Molly with a Red Cushion

This is my second painting of Molly.
She has a wonderfully Edwardian look about her, emphasized perhaps by the way she wears her hair.
There was a bit of a dispute in our life room about the inclusion of the red cushion.
Personally I like how that shock of colour works against the coolness of the rest of the composition.

Beautiful piece, the cushion offsets her pure complexion and nature . very natural :)

I agree about the cushion Grace. I seem to remember that the back cloths were pretty lurid in colour and needed to be taken down quite a bit.
I'll post a higher res scan of this one sometime....it's one of my favourites from recent times.
All the best
